Looking at this picture, 0 is when your baby is engaged, +3 is when your baby is crowning and your midwife can see that your baby is very close to being born. I remember being in the pool with Jorja, she was crowning and the midwife said I could put my hand down to feel the head.....aaahhh thanks but no thanks 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As you get closer to the end of your pregnancy journey, if your baby is head down he/she will get into position in the pelvic area. When this happens, the largest part of your baby’s head is now lower than your pubic bone. In this position, your baby will start to put pressure on your cervix so the body knows to start labour and delivery. Of course there are other factors that come into play and this is just one of them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fun fact: your pelvis is made up of 4 bones all held together by connective tissue, cartilage and ligaments which allow us to move, walk and run. So many women worry about their baby fitting through their pelvis but did you know that the space is bigger by 27% when you’re not lying on your back 🤯⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There are a number of things you can do as you approach the end of your pregnancy to help your baby engage. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💖 using your birth ball to do circular and figure eight rotations⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💙 walking on a daily basis ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💖 drink enough water throughout the day⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💙 think upright and forward⠀⠀⠀⠀
